Review: The Sky is Everywhere

Struggling with the loss of her sister, Lennie (Grace Kaufman) starts spiraling into a depression. The world around her hurts so much that she can’t even play a note on her beloved clarinet. The only thing keeping her head from sinking is her crush on her classmate Joe (Jacques Colimon).

As Lennie tries to figure out how to deal with the loss, she leans on her sister’s bereaved boyfriend Toby (Pico Alexander). When unexpected feelings get into the mix, it sends Lennie’s life into a tailspin.

The Sky is Everywhere is a colorful and, at times, magical movie despite the subject matter. Its quirky flare makes the film almost feel like an episode of Pushing Daisies. There are moments when it falters and becomes a little dull, but the beautiful sequences brought to life by music, and gorgeous cinematography pulls you back into the story.

The Sky is Everywhere is whimsical and Joyous. While the story may dim a few times, you are immediately swept back into its charm.

Incredibly awkward. Fantastically sarcastic, and very, very small. Lover of movies, musicals, & TV.
