#8 – The Ice Age Adventure Of Buck Wild

In at number 8… is The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, the 6th film in the Ice Age animated series.

Utkarsh Ambudkar and Simon Pegg lend their voice talent to this film, but it sounds like whomever the *NEW voice actor is on the Mammoth is doing a really second rate Ray Romano impression.

While the animation quality looks like a definite step down from past Ice Age flicks, it does seem like a lot of fun and a good way to introduce superheroes to the Ice Age franchise.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild comes to Disney Plus on January 28.

Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez return to the franchise, as Brian Hull steps in for Adam Sandler as the voice of Drac.  Unfortunately, Drac learns the hard way, that the ray gun doesn’t **ALWAYS work properly.

The now human Dracula must travel the world to get his powers back.

But, the vampire **CLEARly isn’t used to being human anymore.

His son’s team isn’t very good, so Payton volunteers to help out…  And, he sees just how bad the team really is.

In real life, Payton was suspended because players and coaches were betting that they could injure opposing players.

This movie looks like it shows off a disconnect between father and son, as well.

Home Team hits Netflix January 28.

#5 – Scream – January Movies

In at number 5…  Is the Fifth film in the classic self-aware horror series…  Just in time for the 25th anniversary of the original…  This one is also simply called, ‘Scream’.

Parallels to the original film pop up as a whole new generation must deal with Ghostface.

The remaining three original characters also appear to be central to the story.

Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox all return.

And, ‘In The Heights’ Melissa Barrera joins the cast as ‘Sam’, Ghostface’s new target.

Intended as a relaunch to the series, Scream is also a direct sequel to Scream 4, although taking place ten years later.

#4 Redeeming Love

In at number 4…  Is Redeeming Love, about a woman trying to recover her hope in humanity after being abandoned as a girl.

Abigail Cowan stars as the grown up Angel, who eventually finds a man named Michael who wants to heal her broken wings.

This looks like a much darker story than how it’s being portrayed.  But, this Historical Romance has great Cinematography, and seems to send a message about a woman finding her agency.

Based off the hit Francine Rivers novel, Reedeming Love hits theaters on January 21.

#3 – The 355 – January Movies

In at number 3…  Is The 355, a female spy team up movie starring Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, and Diane Kruger.

The assembled spies must stop a dangerous weapon from falling into the hands of mercenaries.

But, getting spies from all around the world to work together isn’t as easy as you might think.

This Action Thriller is Directed by X-Men: Dark Phoenix’s Simon Kinberg.

The 355 looks a fun popcorn movie with lots of gunfire and explosions, where you can just sit back and turn your brain off for two hours.

The 355 hits theaters January 7.

Courtesy: Peter Dinklage as ‘Cyrano’/Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

#2 – Cyrano

In at number 2…  Is Cyrano, a Musical take on the classic love story with Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage in the titular role.

Cyrano may be a brave and gifted warrior, but he’s just as scared as lots of other men when it comes to women — afraid to talk about his feelings.

Cyrano’s hesitation leads to an awkward love triangle with Roxanne, played by Haley Bennett, and the classically handsome ‘Christian’, played by Kelvin Harrison, Jr.

Cyrano was in limited release this December, but will hit a wider audience January 21.

Courtesy: Jared Leto stars as ‘Dr. Michael Morbius’/Morbius/Columbia Pictures

#1 – Morbius – January Movies

And, in at number 1…  is Sony Marvel’s latest film from the Spider-verse, Morbuis.

Jared Leto stars as Doctor Michael Morbius, a talented doctor battling a fatal disease.

After Morbius goes all Dr. Jekyl on himself, even he doesn’t know what his new ‘Mr. Hyde’-side will bring.

Eventually, Morbius develops vampire powers, but also gets a taste for blood. Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson, Matt Smith, and Jared Harris also star.

I like that we’re going to see that internal conflict between Morbius’ better angels and his inner demons.

This is the first Superhero film hitting big screens this year.

Morbius hits theaters January 28.
