Sundance 2024: We chat with Richard Linklater & talk Hit Man

What better place for a film called Hit Man than the snowy and peaceful town of Park City during the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. If you were to think this in any way, you would be wrong! While Sundance is a place for every type of film, the title of this movie is a mislead in a way. No big budget shoot em up action scenes per say, more a gentle comedy with a hilarious and talented cast.

Based on a real life story, this film follows a man that goes from tech genius to fake hired killer. That’s right. this Hit Man is a troll that shows up when evil people want things done. Only now, those bad people get caught and arrested by the police. Enter Glen Powell as the star of this film, stretching his acting chops in so many ways delivering solid characters at every turn. If you watch it and don’t think of Robert Downey Jr.’s explosive performance in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, then you haven’t been paying attention. Yes, he has been cast the pretty boy and the ace pilot, but now we get a comedy angle that we weren’t expecting.

Catching up with Richard Linklater, the Director of this film. He talks to us about the creation of this film, working with Glen and his love of the Sundance Film Festival.

Look for Hitman to hit Netflix later this year.
