Las Vegas Critics pick film Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, MO as Best Picture 2017

In its 20th year as an organization, the Las Vegas Film Critics Society has solidified itself as a noted and trustworthy source for film criticism by all lovers of film and cinema. This year, Nevada’s premiere society has chosen to bestow Fox Searchlight’s Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, MO with the title of Best Picture of 2017. Taking home not one, but five category wins with Lead Actress Frances McDormand being named as Best Actress and co-star Sam Rockwell snagging Best Supporting Actor honors. Other wins include, Best Original Screenplay and Best Ensemble Cast.
Best Actor nod goes to Daniel Kaluuya for his mesmerizing role in Get Out. Though that wasn’t the only award for the film, as Director Jordan Peele impressed members enough to earn the title of Breakout Filmmaker of the year. Plus, as a fan favorite, Get Out also took home the win for the Best Horror or Sci-Fi film of 2017.
Best Supporting Actress went to Laurie Metcalf for her memorable work in Lady Bird. And Best Director swam its way into the arms of Guillermo Del Toro for The Shape of Water, which also took a nod for Best Score.
This year, the William Holden Lifetime Achievement award was happily bestowed upon the amazing Lois Smith.
