I’ll be frank. I am not a huge Bob’s Burgers fan. Sure, I’ve seen a few episodes, but not enough to go running to the theater for a movie/musical version of the show. I will say this was a delightful surprise.
I was surprised to find that the Bob’s Burgers Movie has a good plot. Bob is facing some money problems, and to keep his restaurant open, he needs cash fast! Unfortunately, a massive sinkhole opens right in front of his door! To make matters worse, a disturbing discovery could lead to the end of Bob’s Burgers.
The wonderful thing about this film is it requires no knowledge of the show to be entertained. The Bob’s Burgers Movie is a tasty treat for fans and those like me who find themselves in the theater.
The film has excellent animation, a surprisingly charming story, and jokes that will have you laughing out loud. I do feel like there could have been more songs considering this was billed as a musical, but I can get over that. The Bob’s Burgers Movie is Oddly Loveable. Does it have to be watched on the big screen? Not really. But it is a film that feeds off the audience. And if you’re sitting in a good theater with the right group, it may just make it more enjoyable.
