Interview: Cobra Kai is ending, we ask Cast & Creators the questions

We had a chance to chat with William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) & Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) about the end of Cobra Kai on Netflix. They talk about how the two characters end and how the relationship between the characters should end. We also ask them about the monster the show became and if they are hanging up their headbands and Karate gis for good?

In this insightful interview, the actors reflect on the evolution of their characters in the series, particularly the complex dynamic between Johnny and Daniel. They discuss how their relationship has shifted over time, from constant friction to mutual respect rooted in their shared love for their kids. The actors also express surprise at how the series expanded beyond Johnny’s redemption arc to a larger ensemble with various new characters. Though humorously contemplating the idea of a universal tournament, they highlight the series’ unexpected depth and the challenges of balancing a growing cast. The playful nod to future possibilities rounds out the conversation.
