CinemaCon 2025: Universal Pictures

Universal began their CinemaCon presentation on a high note, quite literally, as they had a full orchestra on stage performing some of their most iconic movie themes. Conducted by the talented Rickey Minor, the CinemaCon audience was transported into the worlds of beloved films through the memorable scores of Back to the Future, E.T., Jaws, and concluded with the rich sounds from Wicked.

Stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali introduced the audience to a brand-new trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth. While the trailer resembled those currently available, it showcased a new dinosaur and provided a more in-depth look at the story.

Dreamworks Animations introduces the Audience to Gabby’s Dollhouse, Bad Guys 2, and How to Train Your Dragon stars Gerard Butler and Nico Parker announced Universal has already greenlit How to Train Your Dragon 2 coming to theaters on June 11, 2027.

Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers introduced Jordan Peele’s unique new horror sports film, HIM. In the horror category, Jason Blum presented three highly anticipated sequels: Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, The Black Phone 2, and M3GAN 2.0. The presentation featured over thirty M3GAN lookalike dancers performing to “Oops!… I Did It Again.”

The presentation concluded with the moment everyone had been waiting for: the trailer for Wicked: For Good. Stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, along with director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt, expressed their gratitude to audiences and theaters for their support in promoting the first part of the film. We were then treated to a two-minute and thirty-second trailer featuring snippets of songs like “No Good Deed” and “For Good.” The trailer was truly epic, showcasing a darker tone compared to its predecessor. There is no word yet on when this trailer will be released to the public, but Review Nation will keep you updated.
