Spider-Man: Brand New Day “It may even be one of the best Spider-Man movies made” Review

The wait is finally over: “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has arrived. When we last left off, Peter had erased everyone’s memories, including those of his loved ones, regarding Peter Parker.

This film focuses on the weight of solitude and depression, exploring how these feelings change a person. When you have no one to confide in, you throw yourself into something like work, and in doing so, your soul becomes so consumed with life that you lose sight of who you truly are.

Throughout the characterizations of Spider-Man in comic books and films, we’ve seen Peter at his lowest points, which sets the stage for him to reach his full potential. “Brand New Day” represents that pivotal moment we’ve all been waiting for.

Peter is at his absolute lowest. He doesn’t have his aunt, and his best friend and girlfriend don’t even know who he is anymore. In response, Peter throws himself into protecting the city, but as he does so, he begins to undergo a transformation. While trying to manage his new powers, he faces an unseen threat: a villain who can jump from body to body and take over someone’s mind.

Tom Holland owns the role of Peter Parker. He flawlessly portrays the sarcastic Spider-Man while showcasing the emotional turmoil of Peter. However, it’s his connection with John Bernthal’s The Punisher that brings a refreshing twist to the franchise.

While the film sets up future developments in the MCU, it primarily paves the way for Spider-Man to become one of the most powerful superheroes in the universe. “Brand New Day” is the blockbuster we expect, but what truly elevates it are the performances from Holland and Sadie Sink, who is now widely known to be playing Jean Grey. Adding such a powerhouse actress to the MCU is a game changer, not just because of her talent, but also due to what this signifies for the eventual inclusion of the Mutants in the universe.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is one of the most mature films within the “new age” of Spider-Man, filled with street-level action and witty banter. It may even be one of the best Spider-Man movies made to date. There are visually stunning moments, especially during fight sequences and as Spidey swings around the city. I saw this film in 4DX, and if you have the option, I highly recommend it; you feel like you are part of the movie rather than just watching it. As for what’s next? I can’t wait to find out!
